We are pleased to announce that Veronica Munera M.D. has joined Safecare Medical Center and will be practicing at our Hallandale office. In June 2011, she completed her Internal Medicine Residency at North Shore, Forest Hills Hospital located in Forest Hills, NY.
Moreover, Veronica Munera, M.D. speaks fluent English and Spanish. She has been employed at a Specialists Clinic as a General Practitioner located in Medellin, Colombia and was also a Postdoctoral Associate at the University of Pittsburgh Medical Center located in Pittsburgh, PA.
Please welcome Dr. Munera to Safecare Medical Center.We are delighted to include her with our wonderful group of physicians currently practicing at our Hallandale and Hollywood offices: Chiapone Ting M.D., Sailesh Dave M.D., Enrique Ciklik M.D., and Richard Wilbur M.D.

The flu vaccination will be coming soon in the month of October!
It is highly recommended by the Center of Disease Control and Prevention that any individual over the age of 6 months should get their annual flu vaccination.

Safecare Medical Center is now offering the flu vaccine, and will soon be providing the H1N1 vaccine to our patients. You can protect yourself and your family by getting vaccinated. According to the Center for Disease Control: Every year in the United States, on average:
5% to 20% of the population gets the flu;
more than 200,000 people are hospitalized from flu-related complications; and
about 36,000 people die from flu-related causes.
The CDC recommends an annual Influenza Vaccinefor the following at risk groups:
Children aged 6 months up to their 19th birthday
Pregnant women
People 50 years of age and older
People of any age with certain chronic medical conditions
People who live in nursing homes and other long-term care facilities
People who live with or care for those at high risk for complications from flu, including:
Health care workers
Household contacts of persons at high risk for complications from the flu
Household contacts and out of home caregivers of children less than 6 months of age (these children are too young to be vaccinated)
