He has four wonderful children and is married to Deborah Wilbur, M.D. He received his B.A. in Chemistry at Duke University in 1978 and continued on to Medical School and received his M.D. degree at the University of South Florida College of Medicine in 1981. He then completed his Internship/Residency at the Medical University of South Carolina in 1984. Before Richard Wilbur M.D. began working at Safecare, he was the founding partner and President of the Centre for Internal Medicine in Cooper City. He was also the Chief of Staff at West Broward Health Care Center and the Chief of Staff at Hyde Park Health Center. Additionally, the AOA National Medical Honor Society appointed him as Clinician of the Year. Richard Wilbur is affiliated with Memorial Regional Hospital and Memorial Hospital South. He is currently the Clinical Preceptor at Nova Southeastern University College of Osteopathic Medicine and is associated with the Duke University Alumni Admission Advisory Committee. Lastly, Richard Wilbur M.D. is a member of Broward County Medical Association, Florida Medical Association, and American College of Physicians/American Society of Internal Medicine.
